My Gabe

by Trisha
(Denver, Colorado)

My Gabe...

My Gabe...

Gabe is 16 and is in the last stages of lymphoma cancer. So I only have a few more days with him. I have had him since he was just 8 weeks old and has been the best dog, friend and companion. I will miss him when he is gone....

Gabe
by: Mags

I feel so sorry for you Gabe. The only consolation is knowing this fur baby has had a beautiful life and a beautiful human caring for them. Prayers are with you both at this sad time...

Heartache
by: Laurie

There are no words to ease your pain. My husband and I have lost too many, even one is too many. Be with Gabe untill the end and then carry him in your heart and memories for the rest of your life. He will be waiting for you when your time comes...

He is going to heaven!
by: Anonymous

You made him incredibly happy for all these years, and you are gonna be there by his side when he passes away. It hurts so much to know he is not going to be there with you like he used to, but you eventually will see him again in heaven... Besides, in his honor, you have to find another doggie who is needing a loving family and give it the same love and care you gave Gabe. Gabe taught you love and now you need to share that love with another dog that needs it. Gabe will be so proud of his Mama. ..

Gabe

Trisha, first of all let me say that Gabe is absolutely adorable. I can tell a well loved dog when I see one, and Gabe definitely is one. I know how deeply it hurts from experience. My best suggestion is to comfort yourself knowing that he will no longer feel pain and suffering, only love, peace, and happiness. Also, if you believe as I do, comfort yourself in the fact that you will see Gabe again when it's your turn - you will meet at Rainbow Bridge. So sorry for this terrible pain and the difficult time you are faced with. I will be praying for you and Gabe.

"Tears and Rainbows...."
by: Carly

I, too, know the absolute, gut wrenching pain of losing a little fur friend so dear and special. Write a tribute eulogy to him....right now, looking at his dear little face, stroking his once sturdy little body. The pain will be almost unbearable, but your words will be such an emotional truth that upon reading them again in the future, Gabe will be right at your side, again, in those final words of farewell. The Native Americans have a saying, "If the eyes had no tears, the soul would have no rainbows." Your soul will soon be filled with rainbows, and you'll know your little heart's treasure is there amongst the colors. Blessings to you and Gabe on this journey!

Momments for Gabe
by: Joanna Sawyer

Trish, I understand what you're going through. But Gabe will be much happier over the Rainbow Bridge with no pain. Cherish the memories you've had with him, especially these last days because that will help you get through this.

Goodby Josie...
by: Janice

I lost my poodle Josie to cancer. She was eleven. It was the hardest thing. That was in 1980 and I still miss her. My memories are all wonderful and when I think of her I always think of the good. It hurts but I couldn't stand to see her suffer, I hope this helps you by knowing it doesn't take away the good times and that she is with God.

Gabe
by: Crystene

Enjoy the moments up till the very end... I know they won't be great, but all the amazing times you had together will completely take over your thoughts...
I know....I've been through it. Whenever I see pics of my baby, I still shed a tear (it's been just over 1yr). They are with you forever :-)

The Memories...
by: Kelly Scott

As the moment draws near, take your lead from Gabe. Please do not let any feelings of denial enter yours and Gabe's space. Tell him over and over how much you love him and always have and that it is OK with you if he wants to leave now. Assure him that you know he will be waiting for you and that you look forward to that day. It may not be soon, but it will be. Hold him and be grateful for this time with him. So many families lose their fur babies to a traffic accident and don't have this wonderful opportunity that you have. Don't feel sorry that this is happening...it has come his time...just be so very thankful you will have Beautiful Memories from all the years together since he was a baby. Bless you Both...Kelly Scott

Hi Trish, I'm so sorry you have to lose Gabe soon. I know he's been a big part of your life and you will miss him greatly. It's never easy to lose a member of the family who has been there for you through thick and thin. You are fortunate to have had him for 16 years. I will have you in my thoughts.
