We rescued Lannie 12 years ago and what a treat she was to us! A lot of personality but she did not accept people easily... You had to prove to her you were trustworthy!
At 4 years of age we almost lost her to Valley Fever, which was complicated by also being positive for ehrlichia. Either one of these diseases could have killed her but our girl put up a brave fight and with the aid of a great vet she pulled through. But she had to take medication for the rest of her life to prevent a relapse of the valley fever, of which there is no cure.
In her 12 years she was a ONE OF A KIND DOG with a lot of attitude and kept us in line.
When she was diagnosed with lymphoma she was already showing signs of hearing loss and had cataracts affecting her sight, so we kept her as comfortable as possible and spoiled her a little more until she let us know it was time to let her go over the rainbow.
It was the hardest decision we ever made but we knew that we could not put her through any more suffering.
You'll always have a special place in your family's hearts Lannie and they'll never forget you. RIP sweet girl...
